The Morlock tunnels are a sprawling network of sewer tunnels and bomb shelters built in the 1950s by the U.S. Government as shelters in case of emergency. This tunnels span New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The vast majority of the public has no idea these tunnels exist. There are many tunnels stretching out of sight, many unexplored. The main tunnel is 50 feet high and runs the length of Manhattan, it's called "the alley" by the Morlock inhabitants.

The alley and the tunnels just off of it serve as the main living area for the Morlocks. They alley serves as the main living area with beds set up and separated by cubicle walls, a makeshift kitchen off to the side, and an area for relaxing.
