Layla was at the read to meet Steena's approach to the mansion-- she'd sent word to the rest within the estate as she waited by the front door. Steena reached the estate first, but Gavin wasn't too far behind having been on the move as soon as she'd given him that mental poke to his thoughts regarding what was going on in the sealed lab at the Center. It didn't take long to note that Steena was upset, and it took a moment for Val to calm her down before Layla and the others could piece together the situation involving Max. Unease and silence filled the air as the story unfolds as the individual once known as Deven and now calling himself En Sabah Nur had made some machine and put a girl named Molly in there as part of a test that apparently altered her mutation. Max, it seems had also gone through the same change as well just recently. The news of a sister who should have been dead but now was being reported as alive, didn't sit well with Layla.

Tempers flare between the two women that both have someone tangled up in this situation. Ruby, having caught the tail in of the explination but enough to hear the name appeared to be even more ill at ease-- she'd stated this man's name was also known to her as Apocalypse. Ruby flat out stated they'd need Mal in order to help, as it was, those at the estate wouldn't be well trained or strong enough to deal with this guy. Unfortunately, Layla didn't have a way to just "get ahold of Mal" so they would have to figure out something else. There were few answers to how to address the situation that evening-- Ruby went to see if there might have be something of use from Evil Andy's old gear while Layla showed the two guests to their rooms. As Gavin and Steena turn in for the evening, Kevin helps Val to their room to rest. She'd been hit with a sudden migraine that he'd felt in part through their link, he'd caught Veronica on the way to the room and once Val was settled came back to have a word with her. He'd follow Veronica into the kitchen and catch her up as to the recent news and the currently unresolved situation that had brought Max's mother, Steena, to the estate that evening. Afterwards, he left to go start a patrol of the estate grounds-- it just felt like a good idea given the events that evening.
