It hadn't been long since Mal left Steena and Gavin to their own devices when he'd received signals about the location of Apocalypse and his Horsemen. The Pyramid had gone into orbit, but was not meant to fly...however all that was needed for the Earth to rotate to the desired location. Narrowing down the location of where the Pyramid would be, Mal sent word through the communicators and the intercom to gather everyone together-- they'd need to be on the go and leave in the jet as quickly as possible. It didn't take long for everyone to assemble and board the jet. They were off moments later heading for Paphos long the Mediterranean Sea and close enough to Cairo where the Pyramid was expected to touch down soon. The benefit of having access to the Blackbird was that the jet could move at a third of the time it'd take if forced to use a commercial flight.

Once in Paphos they'd have time to stretch their legs from the flight and try to rest before the coming fight. As much as that tension of waiting for that encounter was it wouldn't do good to charge in since the last time it appeared Apocalypse had the ability to knock ships out of the air-- it would do Mal and the rest a lot more good to get a better idea of what they'd be up against first. Val, Ruby and Gavin kept mostly to their own manner of trying to relax after landing while Steena sought Layla out to say her peace before the coming fight. It'd be moments later after that conversation when Layla sought out Mal to check in on him. Mal was still tense, perhaps more about what he may have to do and how far to push, rather than an actual fight itself. Regardless of the events to come, Layla would be there for him, his anchor.
