Restless from the waiting but done with walking to stretch his muscles a bit and get the lay of the land of this area, Gavin set himself up to people watch in the hotel lobby. It wasn't long until Steena found him there, also having kept tabs on him a bit and picking up not on just his location but at his temperament. He'd been a bit light-hearted at teasing her for her 'first world problems' up until she'd picked up his glass of water for a drink. That had set him off without him realizing it at first-- that was 'his' water. Gavin managed to control the reaction of his more 'instinctual' side to take it no further than the look before trying to continue the conversation. Steena caught that territorial moment in the look and quietly spoke to his mind stating this was one of the reasons she had wanted him to stay behind in the city. Gavin only confirms that he knows what his choice means-- confronting and using that other half of himself he'd set aside for months now. Even as the Tomorrow Center was crumbling around their group just days ago, he'd only pushed himself to shift half-way for the extra strength and speed to clear the building with Val and Veronica safely. Steena didn't want to see him lose himself to that other half, and knowing short of forcing him to stay behind could only warn him not to let his Hyde self take control. She didn't know if he could be brought back if that happened, and those they were with wouldn't give it much thought to put him down-- if that wasn't already evident enough from Mal's conversation with them prior. Gavin wasn't going to leave her to make the choice, bluntly stating that if it happened she or someone else she tells should kill him. He could do without that side running the show and Gavin didn't want to be the monster if he had any choice. Theirs was an odd friendship and he'd made a big ask which he had no doubt she'd honor his last cognitive decision if the beast did take over... Though for now, it was enough on that topic and more to finding food and back to waiting for the call to move.

Layla had been wandering out elsewhere in the little city beyond the hotel. Trying to walk off the anxious energy since it would be better than trying to deal with it while just sitting and waiting. However she wasn't alone for long, Molly had found her...and it would be moments before Layla noticed her presence. Layla slowed to a stop and she greeted Molly by name. A name that seemed to be almost forgotten as the other woman processed the greeting. She accused Layla of forgetting her. Her sister argued that wasn't the case and if she'd only known she would have done everything she could to stop it... That didn't appease Molly, as she took the arm of one man that'd been walking by the street and then aging him to dust as she turned to walk away from Layla. She couldn't turn back now, so Layla followed after her sister into the Paphos Ancient Ruins. Layla tried to reason with Molly that she didn't have to be Death...that she didn't have to do this. It seems her words fell on deaf ears, Molly had found purpose with En Sabah Nur...and he was going to reshape the world. She continued to follow her sister into the ruins, continuing the talk, uncertain if she'd end up like that man-- then Molly made a point to show her that power...and the end didn't come. When the time comes, it wouldn't be that power she'd use to kill Layla, that much Molly confirmed. Though that also brought their conversation to an end.
