Alys had kept to herself for the most part, still going over the incident at the airport and everything since then. At first she thought she'd manage to make it to the kitchen once more for dinner by herself, but that quickly changes when another individual enters a room. A woman she'd not seen before...currently speaking in French on the phone. She hadn't been particularly good at that Romance language, the best she could understand from the brief one-sided conversation was "thank you" and "goodbye" before the woman slid into one of the other chairs at the kitchen table. She wasn't certain what to make of this newcomer and it seemed for the moment she hadn't been noticed. This would be the first time she'd meet and see Veronica since that night at the airport.

That didn't last long, the other woman looked up and greeted her by name. Inquiring how Alys' current transition and settling in had been going and wonder if she had any questions. It seemed both odd and a bit too casual...after a moment she probably figured, and asked as much, Max mentioned a few things about herself to the rest of the people in this mansion. Alys admits that she doesn't really know what to make it all just yet-- not even really certain what was going on fully with herself or what happened. The other woman tried to be helpful, in asking for Alys' perspective on what she had been told and understood.

Alys understood that by Max's perspective, this place was an ideal dream-- one that can help others and did a lot of good. Ruby...had been a bit more blunt regarding the current situation-- that there were others out there like herself and she was being given an advantage that they weren't currently because there were only a couple with a means to do anything right now. She recalled that map downstairs, the lights...and how it seemed few at first and then, according to Ruby, after something happened around the Mediterranean-- more dots were appearing, meaning more mutants. Those suddenly finding out they have powers manifesting and just as lost and confused as herself. She balked at something that'd been going on in her mind for a time...about stating the fact that these abilities were not quite human.

Veronica in brief confirms that there was some Pyramid in the sky over the Mediterranean Sea that resulted in some explosion after events were all said and done. They'd lost two people there that night. Hardly the information the media was stating in the news from the bits Alys had heard. The other woman continues stating that Alys is a mutant, though in all aspects human except for that one gift that she hopes Alys will choose to do good with... The words at first left her a bit confused, not even sure why that Pyramid or whatever had to play in things, but before she could ask for clarification...that word gift was tossed out there and Alys choked on her own words trying to respond to that statement. She told Veronica just as much that she didn't see how something she'd witnessed kill and hurt others could be considered a gift of any kind.

So many emotions were going through her, and she was fighting hard not to cry again... Veronica didn't seem to help much though when demonstrating her own ability by speaking into Alys' mind. There was no malice in the intent and Veronica was trying to encourage her to let out those emotions to help her feel better. However, it was not something Alys was prepared for-- backing away from the table, frantic to place that voice at first, eyes wide when she realizes the source...she yells for the other woman to stop. She could feel her body trembling...angry maybe at having someone prod at her mind like that...afraid of what all this means for her life now... She wasn't certain, and it took her several long moments before she could calm herself enough to speak again... So far all she had done was hurt others, kill in a couple of instances...and it didn't leave her feeling like she couldn't help herself. How could anyone expect her to help them...and that was if she even wanted to... Though it also brought up another unasked question-- did she even want to help them? She left the conversation where it was...she didn't have the presence of mind to continue on the topic, Alys needed time to herself to think. She'd left Veronica to think what she would of herself and leave her to her own thoughts. It'd only been a few days since arriving to this place, a bit by force...and she still felt like a stranger even if she was being invited to stay and make this home.
