Once the man, introduced as Charles Xavier, released them from whatever he'd done to each individual-- Layla was finally able to respond. Stating they were taking a stand and that Mal was unavailable...and thinking that Xavier was dead. It seemed that was initially the point, and he didn't look too pleased about the current situation. Not getting the information he wanted with words, he took what he needed from Layla's mind and made to go down to the subbasement where Mal rested. She tried to protest that he was in no condition to talk and wasn't the same Mal he'd met. It took all three of them a good moment to realize that even though they'd thought they'd been following after the man Charles Xavier to head down to the lift-- they'd not really been moving much at all and the lift down was already gone. Layla turned to Max to have him teleport her to Mal. It seemed to be the fastest way to get there given they couldn't trust their bodies to move well on their own at the moment. That left Alys alone at the top by the lift...wondering what was going on...and where Ruby was...
